Our Story,

My name is Rich Mann and my wife is Brenda.  We are from Austin, Texas.  We have two small children and our pets. Fate and good fortune brought Brenda and me to the top of this mountain in 2001.  We looked at no other property we just had to have this place.  We decided early on we wanted to share this wonderful spot with others.  First we camped with our friends.  Then we purchased some property on the magnificent Johnson Fork Creek and soon a small cabin on the mountain top will pop up.  We hope to eventually build our home and open it to guests.

As of right now (April 2006) it is but a dream.  But by June 1st we will break ground on our barn then our first cabin.  We are very excited to be starting.  We hope to be finished by Christmas this year with rentals to our friends.  We hope to start renting in 2007.  Please send us an email if you are interested in being one of the first to discover our mountain top hideaway.

People who helped us get this far.

Tom & Duana - Everyone should give them a big hand.  If not for them, there is no way we would have found this wonderful place.  We purchased  it to share with anyone who needs a place to sit in the peace and quiet and have no beeping or screaming or pressure from work.  For the many days in the hammock and floating on the creek my family and friends all thank Tom And DG!

Bob Mayo & Ted Shafer,  Thanks for making the ownership of such a wonderful place something we could afford.  We are forever grateful!

Gary Luedecke - AKA "Uncle Gar" AKA "whistlin' Larry",  no one has worked harder or helped us more than Gary.  He has cleared land and moved logs, cactus and rocks to help make this a much more comfortable place to be.  He is also fun to watch the stars with. And the kids love his Granola for breakfast.

Susan & Bobby Martin, these are our two favorite people in Segovia.  They have helped us city folks figure out what the hell is going on out here in the sticks! Susan works at the truck stop and you better be nice to her or she just might rough you up.  But if you are nice she might talk Bobby into taking you out to spot some of the monster deer he is famous for finding. He is also a metal fabricator of the highest order!

My friend Buzz Hull for his advice and friendship. There is no better builder in the area. All the contractors in Junction who have helped us build our special place in the country like the Wilson's and Tooter Schultz.  Special Thanks to Mike Chapman for building our roads a load at a time.  He was extremely patient with us. We appreciate that they don't laugh to much (in front of us) at our mistakes.

To all the people of Junction.  From our first day visiting to look at the property to fumbling around looking for supplies.  Everyone to a person as been wonderful to us, our family and friends who visit us. Thanks for the warm hospitality!
